PWPSD Board Chair Stefanie Clarke and Vice Chair Martine Piebiak

The Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) Board has reconvened for the 2026-2027 school year, and Trustees welcomed a new Chair and Vice Chair.

Trustees Stefanie Clarke and Martine Piebiak have accepted the roles of Board Chair and Vice Chair, respectively. Trustee Clarke says she is honoured to be supported by the Board of Trustees to fulfill her new position. “I am truly honoured and grateful to serve as Chair of Peace Wapiti Public School Division. I am also deeply appreciative of our previous Chair, Trustee Lori Grant, for her heartfelt leadership and dedication over the past four years.” Trustee Clarke says she is looking forward to building on the work already in place and continuing to move the Division forward.

Trustee Martine Piebiak echoes this sentiment and says she welcomes the opportunity to learn a new role and help the Board as Trustees and staff navigate the future together.

While the PWPSD Board is elected every four years, the positions of Chair and Vice Chair are open for nominations at the beginning of every school year. The primary responsibility of the Board Chair and Vice Chair is to provide leadership and guidance to assist members of the Board to operate effectively as a team. A trustee may serve as Chair for a maximum of five consecutive years, and as Vice Chair for a maximum of three consecutive years.
